Seamless integration with existing workflows
The HDC-4300 joins Sony’s widely acclaimed HDC Series family of live production solutions. Operation is reassuringly familiar to video operators and cameramen, so you’re up and running faster without expensive re-training.
The HDC-4300 is fully compatible with a wide range of existing products and workflows, including viewfinders, large lens adaptors and camera control units. There’s no need for investment in additional accessories, keeping costs and inventory down.

Features:
Direct installation of B4-mount lenses
Thanks to the 2/3-inch camera mount, the HDC-4300 works directly with B4 lenses. The B4-mount-supports both HD and 4K lenses, allowing you to use B4-mount high power large lenses to capture sports scenes with a deep depth of field.

High-frame-rate HD capture for 8x high frame rate
The HDC-4300’s real 4K imagers capture at four times the resolution of HD. In HD shooting, this can be used to achieve extreme high-speed image capture at a maximum of 479.52/400 fps with the optional software upgrade. Capture rates of 59.94/50, 119.88/100 and 179.82/150 fps are available as standard.

The full digital process is applied to each frame even at high-frame rates in the BPU-4000, producing the same quality in the images as one at the normal speed. Both the high-speed image and the normal-speed image can be adjusted by individual paint parameters.

Captured images can be recorded to the PWS-4400 4K/HD multi-port AV storage unit for high frame rate replay*.

* Some third party manufacturer servers may also be used. For 8x slow motion replay, the PWS-4400 system requires software upgrade V1.4. and the BPU-4000 requires optional software SZC-4002

Smooth and easy migration from HD to 4K
The HDC-4300 is designed to fit into the growing Sony 4K live production environment alongside the PMW-F55 and F65 live camera configurations. With an optional software upgrade, the HDC-4300 enables 4K capture for multiple 4K and HD outputs, working directly with the BPU-4000 baseband processor unit and the HDCU-2000 or HDCU-2500 camera control units.

Space-saving 2U full-rack sized CCU/BPU offers flexible 4K or HD IP interface for OBs

HDCU-4300 is a space-saving, compact 2U full-rack sized camera control unit (CCU) and 4K / HD for IP baseband processor unit (BPU) with built-in IP and SDI interfaces designed to give flexibility to Outside Broadcast (OB) operations. The unit enables either 4K or HD IP operations through a single Networked Media Interface (NMI)*, alongside SDI outputs. The unit is also HDR (High Dynamic Range) ready** and can handle High Frame Rate (HFR) HD up to 8x slow motion***. The HDCU-4300 combined with the HDC-4300 camera offers OB operators a uniquely flexible, space-saving BPU/CCU for advanced 4K/HD IP operation. ??* Single NMI is 4K or HD selectable. ?** HDR: single output supports ITU BT.2020/S-Log3. ?*** HFR requires optional software SZC-4002.

Combined Camera Control Unit (CCU) and baseband processor unit (BPU) with single IP interface
The HDCU-4300 is equipped with one IP interface, which enables the IP live production for 4K/HD working with the HDC-4300 4K/HD camera. It can handle broadcast quality HD and 4K video, audio, synchronisation signals and control data across the IP network, which increases operational efficiency. While the IP signals are output, the SDI signals can be output from the HDCU-4300 simultaneously in order to integrate the HDCU-4300 seamlessly with your existing SDI infrastructure.

Multi-format functionality
The HDCU-4300 has multi-format support for 4K and HD. In 4K, it supports QFHD (3840×2160) and 4K Cinema (4096×2160) 60p/50p, 30p/25p and 24p. In HD, it supports Full HD (1980×1080) 480i/400i, 360i/300 240p/200p, 240i/200i, 180p/150p, 180i/150i, 120p/100p, 120i/100i, 60p/50p, 60i/50i, 30PsF/25PsF, 24PsF.

The HDCU-4300 supports Full HD High Frame Rate (HFR) capture at 480i/400i 8x slow motion and 360i/300i 6x slow motion, in interlace mode only. The unit also supports Full HD HFR 4x, 3x and 2x slow motion in both progressive and interlace modes.
