The intuitive touchscreen interface is designed for high pressure situations, where a minimum of interaction is desirable to operate the Cinedeck — every tool commonly needed is readily at hand. And there is relatively no learning curve.
Most commonly used tools are accessible within one touch from the main screen. The hi-res touchscreen is the main control surface, but there are also physical buttons for commonly used functions while in full screen preview mode.
Cinedeck RX is designed for the mobile production environment, where space is at a premium and things like cooling and power draw are of utmost importance. The rugged milled aluminum case is built to withstand environments that are on the move like OB vans or flight packs. Weighing less than 10 pounds, measuring 4RU at half-rack width (7″h x 8.5″w x 9″d), it brings tons of functionality in a small footprint.
Configuration for all the connections was designed with protection and accessibility in mind – for example, the SSD drives and headphone jacks are on the front panel, while camera connections (HDMI, 3G HDSDI, LAN), audio, and sync are available on the back panel.
